Work In Progress

WAYNE ALAN HAROLD: Currently in the midst of preserving/restoring Craig’s’s hand-colored Jungle Book art from the early 80s. Image 1 shows the extensive “mottling” that has occurred with the elephant statue’s coloring—a lot of the original coloring is physically rotting in a similar manner. Image 2 shows the restored color combined with line art that’s newly scanned from the original inked pages.

We’ll be publishing a “Restoration Edition” of the color Jungle Book stories after we’re through with our line of oversized “Fine Art Editions”—more info on the latter is at https://igg.me/at/pcrjunglebook/x/718844

Forty Stories

P. CRAIG RUSSELL: Just got back from the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at OSU where I was returning and retrieving original art for our upcoming Jungle Book and Other Stories Fine Art Edition and met with curator Jenny Robb, seen here, as she was in the middle of installing their fortieth anniversary exhibition called Forty Stories. Here she’s standing by two of my pages to Neil Gaiman’s Coraline along with framed copies of my script notes and thumbnail sketches. I didn’t know they were going to be in the show so it was a happy surprise. Maybe I’ll see you at the opening on May first.
