We recently received our Jungle Book and Other Stories proofs from China and they’re so beautiful that we’re offering them as special perks! Each super-sized print features four images from the book and comes signed by artist P. Craig Russell. Available while supplies last via the following: https://igg.me/at/pcrjunglebook/x/718844
WAYNE ALAN HAROLD: Currently in the midst of preserving/restoring Craig’s’s hand-colored Jungle Book art from the early 80s. Image 1 shows the extensive “mottling” that has occurred with the elephant statue’s coloring—a lot of the original coloring is physically rotting in a similar manner. Image 2 shows the restored color combined with line art that’s newly scanned from the original inked pages.
We’ll be publishing a “Restoration Edition” of the color Jungle Book stories after we’re through with our line of oversized “Fine Art Editions”—more info on the latter is at https://igg.me/at/pcrjunglebook/x/718844
WAYNE ALAN HAROLD: Still working on restoring Craig’s original coloring for The Jungle Book. Just wanted to post a scan of a page of his “raw” coloring. This one is in surprisingly good shape, but I’ll still have to touch it up a bit. Getting these images onto my iPad Pro is making things easier—using the Apple Pencil really helps to streamline this type of workflow.
