The Art of P. Craig Russell
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in painting, P. Craig Russell has run the gamut in comics. After establishing a name for himself at Marvel on Killraven and Dr. Strange, he went on to become one of the pioneers who opened new vistas for this underestimated field with, among other works, adaptations of operas by Mozart ("The Magic Flute"), Strauss ("Salome") and Wagner ("The Ring of the Nibelung")

I did so much enjoy listening to the Killraven episode. It was a fond highlight of my teenage comic reading years and I loved the way in which the story and art worked together; it’s a delight to hear how you worked so closely with Don McG. It’s also lovely to know what a brave and visionary writer he was at the time as well as being a real good guy. Your description of him being cheered in the Atlanta parade whilst riding in a Batmobile brought a tear forth. This is fun and brilliant stuff. Thank you very much. Mark South
